To use multiple models to write comparisons (most vs ChatGPT), the ones generally written are for consultants writing emails for their clients. I’m a blogger, caption crap and SEO junkie and that is a completely different test (Claude vs ChatGPT for Writing).
Therefore, I conducted several writing sessions using each of these with the same types of content creators exactly what I believe a content creator does every week and compared the raw output against each other. They said they wouldn’t reword the questions to make them sound cooler in one tool or the other. They said the questions will not be endured and changed so it sounds better in one tool or the other. This is a description of what I came across.
Both tools had the same prompt, the same day, and were administered consecutively without any one tool being given the “leftovers” of the other due to either more momentum or a cleaner brief. Also, I didn’t have to interact with either of them before I read them and compared; they’re both first drafts they produced.

Why Most Comparisons Get This Wrong

Round 1: Writing a Full Blog Post Draft
I gave them both the same set of points to include, a similar set of points to include, (I could do this with few points or get them to include lots of points it didn’t matter), the same number of words to aim for (200), and the same topic to sing. So, I told them both the same set of points to include so few or so many I don’t care but the same target word count of 200, and the same short list of points to cover, then made comparisons on the initial draft each with no follow-up prompting.
- Draft by ChatGPT: subjected all listed points and was a bit more generic and filler transitions during the second half.
- Claude took slightly longer to produce a draft, but maintained its voice throughout the beginning of the draft to the end of the paragraph.
Winner: Claude, with hardly a hesitation passed, when the post goes about 800 words. This gap in length is quite small below that.
This wasn’t one big thing that ChatGPT bungled, this was the gradual descent. The use of words became more conservative, the sentences were a bit more abstract, and the latter part of the script was as if done by a writer who couldn’t care less about the work in question. At word 1,400, Claude’s draft was as much at word 100 as he was before.
Round 2: Batch Social Captions From One Article
I instructed each tool to generate ten separate social captions five brief and to-the-point, five a bit longer for twitter-like posts that go with each blog post.
- Each of the captions generated by ChatGPT was unique and dynamic, and there was more variation between the captions in the batch than with previous rewritten versions of a single caption
- CLM text is generally individually good, but a similar structure as a lot, less variety, than I wanted, except for the actual posting text. Individually, it is a very good CLM text, however, it’s a more similar structure throughout a batch, than I wanted in the actual posting texts.
Winner: ChatGPT. It’s the more suitable instrument for high-volume, diverse production efforts for short length.
This is sensible considering the way that each model behaves. If it’s a long article, I did want Claude to sound like the same word, but the same meaning, around one solid angle, but I didn’t want the same thing in a batch of ten different captions.
Round 3: SEO How-To Guide With a Target Keyword
This is where Claude is able to capture the imagination of bloggers more than ChatGPT. I provided both tools a Keyword and a rough draft, even then I ran each draft through an SEO content Checker.
- It was found that the natural writing of ChatGPT required additional manual input of keywords afterwards.
- The four files from Claude: the 1st and last follow the density given; the two that were explicitly instructed to weave the keyword into the allotted density did a good deal better termed-from the “other” across the entire work.
Winner is Claude, more precisely for the “handling the structured requirements” of SEO, structured instructions. Also, while optimizing manually, ChatGPT is still not problematic.

Where ChatGPT Still Wins for Content Creators
Claude downed and won three of four against here; it’s not better for all though!

- Doing both: switch both free plans and utilize each for what they are best suited doing.
Both of these tools cannot be said to be a universal upgrade over the other, nor can either of them claim to be, “better than the other throughout all”. The fact is that the outcomes for writing between claude and chatgpt will vary based on your writing task this week, for general performance, it’s hard to make an overall conclusion.
